Winning A War of Stealth

We are so proud to see BIL (the youngest general in the country today) on Time magazine. Actually he's been featured in numerous magazines here and abroad before. To show him how much we appreciate his work and all the help/support he's given my hubby and our family as well, I'm posting some portions of the interview.

Here's first few paragraphs of the article. Check the rest of the story here.

Just before dawn, residents of a small village on Jolo Island, in the southern Philippines, were woken by footsteps and muffled hoofbeats. Peeking out in the dim light, they saw dozens of heavily armed men marching past their houses. One was on horseback. With a pang of fear, some villagers recognized him: Khaddafy Janjalani, leader of the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group and one of Southeast Asia's most wanted men. They had seen his face in posters advertising a $5 million reward for his capture.

Most of the villagers stayed indoors. But after dawn one man stole outside. He drove to the army headquarters in Jolo, the island's main town, where he alerted military officers to the terrorists' route and their likely destination. The next day a Philippine marine reconnaissance platoon ambushed Janjalani in his jungle hideout, killing the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist and delivering what authorities believe was a crushing blow to Abu Sayyaf's morale.

That operation took place nearly 22 months ago. News photos at the time showed the informant, code-named Chief, with his face blotted out, posing beside the $5 million cash reward. Most people assumed he was headed for a new life overseas, where the terrorists could not find him. But today Chief, wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap as his only disguise, is sipping a soda at the home of a Filipino general on Jolo Island, not far from his village where he still lives. For the authorities, Chief's decision to stay is one of many signs that Abu Sayyaf is on the run. "They suspect me, definitely," he says of the Islamist group's dwindling membership. "They have tried to kill me. But I never thought of leaving Jolo. I know the armed forces will protect me. And if I leave, the terrorists will suspect me more. They will come after my family." Chief says he doesn't regret what he did. "I didn't do it because of the money. I felt it was my duty to protect myself and other people. My motivation is peace."

The Most Effective Glutathione Accelerator

Glutathione – The Facts

Much has been said about the most sought after supplement in the market today especially in the Metro area. Although it is being marketed as a skin whitening pill, glutathione has more health benefits that some consumers don't know about.

Simply put, glutathione (GSH) is the body’s master antioxidant. It is a small protein produced naturally in our cells when certain required elements are present. It functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin and is a major defense system against illness and aging. Our glutathione level actually indicates our state of health and can predict longevity. Although there are more than 60,000 published papers on the beneficial effects of glutathione replacement, it is still largely ignored by mainstream medicine. In the near future the importance of glutathione will be widely recognized because it has the ability to boost the immune system and fight off the damage of free radicals on the cells.

Modern research has shown that individuals who have low levels of glutathione are susceptible to chronic illness. Decreased levels of glutathione can be brought about by continual stress upon the immune system. As we now know, a lowered immune system can bring about illness and disease. This is a ferocious cycle. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione.

Glutathione has been shown to slow down the aging process, detoxify and improve liver function, strengthen the immune system, and reduce the chances of developing cancer. Glutathione also works to help improve mental functions, increase energy, improve concentration, permit increased exercise, and improve heart and lung function - just to name a few.

Do you know glutathione is the most powerful, prevalent antioxidant in your body? Increasing your glutathione level will naturally increase your energy, detoxify your body and strengthen your immune system.

The MaxGXL’s™ Patented Formula Dramatically Increases Intracellular GSH.
MaxGXL™
provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL™ also aids in liver support, thus helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.

There are data that indicates MaxGXL‘s™ effectiveness in those who are stressed, aging, lacking sleep, or with any prolonged illness. In these situations, MaxGXL™ stimulates the body's production of glutathione to compensate for the body's accelerated use of it, strengthening your natural defenses, decreasing your risk of illness, and guarding against the effects of the body's aging process.

Increasing Age and Other Factors Reduce the Body’s Production and Utilization of GSH. Research has shown that individuals who have low levels of glutathione are susceptible to chronic illness. Research shows that GSH levels decline by 8% to 12% per decade, beginning at the age of 20. Levels of glutathione are further reduced by continual stress upon the immune system such as illness, infection, and environmental toxins. As we now know, a lowered immune system can bring about illness and disease. This is a ferocious cycle. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione.

Supplements Containing Glutathione Alone Will NOT Increase The Body’s GSH Levels. It is pointless to purchase supplements that merely contain glutathione, because the digestive system breaks down ingested glutathione and it will not be absorbed into your system. On the other hand, MaxGXL™ provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL™ also aids in liver support by destroying environmental poisons helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.

I'm Back....

After a week of absence in the blogosphere, I'm back. Been busy with my kids' schooling, have to go back and forth to their school, attend parents orientation (again), buy books and school supplies at National Bookstore, shop for Pio's new polo shirts and shorts plus additional undershirts and socks. Yes, Pio is going back to the traditional/regular school. After a year of home school, hubby thinks our only son should go back to a big school with lots of classmates. They're now 30 in his class. Besides, I couldn't handle home schooling two kids, my youngest Bea is now home schooling too.

I also attended another business opportunity conference with Reliv Company (dealing with health products) at the Hotel Intercon last weekend with my kids and my sisters. Will post about it next time.

So I would be juggling my time with 3 kids in school, home schooling, our business and house chores. I hope I'll still have time for blogging.

Here are some random pics I took, planning to use them for Photo-Hunt or Weekend Snapshot but never got the time to post in time.

I Just Joined Bloggerwave

When I discovered the blogging world, I was so amazed by the blogs or sites I have visited, pictures I have seen and life stories I have read. Then I found out that it is so easy to make or set up a blog. I just followed about three steps, then minutes later I have my site.

I would write down in my small notebook topics that I should write about aside from my daily activities or memorable experiences in the past and of course my kids' milestone on their growing up years. Now that I have my online journal, I am overwhelmed with so many benefits I get from blogging. I get to meet new friends, see wonderful places online, learn new things and make money so easily. Yes, blogging also meant extra moolah for bloggers like me. That's when I discovered Bloggerwave, one of Europe's biggest advertising media. It gives bloggers opportunities to earn while enjoying the thing they so love to do which is writing or simply put, blogging. Signing up is as easy as setting up a blog. Check it out.

La Mesa Ecopark...Picnic with Mommy-Bloggers

Last May 23, we, mommy-bloggers and our kids trooped to the La Mesa Ecopark (Fairview, Quezon City) to have our first picnic together. We were thankful it didn't rain that morning. Actually, we were all hoping and praying for a good weather. At the park, mommies feasted on pancit malabon, fried chicken, lechon manok, grilled daing na bangus, pichi-pichi, fish fillet, hotdogs, fruits and lots of chips. Our kids also went biking around the park. After we have eaten so much, we decided to go up to the Shell Flower Terraces. Up there we saw the La Mesa Dam reservoir. It's truly a wonderful sight. Here are some of the pics, the first three I took a week before the picnic, all the rest courtesy of Julie (Teacher Julie), Cookie (Scrooch Chronicles), Cess (Occupation: SAHM) and Chats (Imomonline). Mommy-bloggers Lynn (Everything and Then Some) and Feng (From Dusk Till Dawn) were also there.
