Clinique De-Aging Solutions

Stressed out, sleep-deprived, eating on the run? It all takes a toll on your skin. Here's what you can do to help slow down the clock.

Commit to a daily skin care regimen. Basic daily care is the best predictor of how skin will age. At Clinique that starts with dermatologist-developed 3-Step Skin Care. Twice-a-day is the recommended routine. Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize to get—and keep—skin radiant, glowing.

Always protect the skin and eyes from the sun.
Sun exposure is harmful to natural collagen. Be vigilant about using a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen daily. And wear a hat and sunglasses to protect skin and eyes when you're in direct sunlight.

Smoking? No way. Smoking prematurely ages skin by damaging blood vessels and limiting skin's ability to self-repair.

Eat a balanced diet.A diet rich in fruit, vegetables, nuts, legumes, fish and whole grains benefits your skin as well as your overall health. Avoid processed carbohydrates and excess sugars, which have been shown to cause damage to collagen and elastin.

Get your beauty rest—and extra moisture, too.Sleep time is skin's repair time. Get your 8 hours and you'll notice a difference. Counteract nightly dehydration with a targeted moisturizer, no matter what your skin type.
Relax and de-stress.
Stress impacts our bodies in many ways, and skin inflammation is one of them. Ever notice that you break out more when you're under stress, or that skin looks duller when you've got a big deadline? Make time every day for to do something completely stress-free. Listen to your favourite music. Spend time with friends. Relaxing is important for your health—and your skin.

“Real Leaf Paparazzi”

Last December, we had our annual gift-giving project for the street children of Makati, Pasay and Manila. There are about 150 kids who participated. They danced with the mascot, ate merienda, joined our contest and before going home, we gave them goodies for their families as well. This is a yearly activity for our family, to give back and share what we have been blessed with. And my kids really enjoyed sharing their new toys with them.

After the activity, my family went to Rockwell to relax and have dinner. We went to Mongkok for their hot soup, mixed veggies and beef steak. When my kids have read the menu, they asked me for some money. And there, they all disappeared. It turned out they all went to Rustan's grocery and bought Real Leaf green tea for each of them because the resto is not serving one yet.

Of course, I have to take pics before they consume their favorite drinks. Now, our weekly grocery cart has lots of Real Leaf green tea, my fave is the one with lychee...Cheers!

Let There Be White...

Red Ribbon launched its newest cake last Thursday, September 17 and I was privileged to be served with one....the White Forest Cake.

The Red Ribbon White Forest is made with creamy white chocolate and light, moist white chiffon cake layered between real cherry bits filing and a fusion of cream and white chocolate flakes. The cake is gloriously crowned with beautiful cream rosettes with luscious long-stemmed, red maraschino cherries on top. It is enrobed in and generously finished with melt-in-the mouth white chocolate shavings. One can't help but feel delight with the unique, heavenly taste of this combination of flavors when tasted. This harmony of white is definitely a sight to behold and taste! It's truly a deliciously memorable dessert experience that no one will soon forget!

We even took home a whole White Forest Cake. Thanks to Red Ribbon.

Potter's Ridge Tagaytay Visit

Sometime last year (after Christmas), we visited Tagaytay again. Since Tagaytay is the nearest out-of town gate away (took us 2 hours to get there), this is the fave destination of my kids. And for the first time, we tried Potter's Ridge, a newly-built hotel located at km.67, Aguinaldo Highway. There, we met the very gracious owner Marissa Potter. She gave us a generous discount for our rooms and even joined us for dinner, chatted how she spends her retirement benefits building the hotel and the story behind each painting or decors around the place. All the staff are efficient and friendly too. I was informed that the hotel is being maintained by 19 staff. How's that for multi-tasking, he he...

By the way, they also grow their own veggies here, talking about eating organic food...

This is such a cozy place. My kids enjoyed our stay here during the freezing month of December...

Blue Water Day Spa Event

Last Tuesday, February 24, we (a few invited bloggers, thanks to Noemi Dado) attended an event which I've been waiting for, the grand opening of Blue Water Day Spa at Capitol Hills in Quezon City. Even though I'm coming down with a flu, (I took meds to ease the body pains I'm having) still I insisted that I should attend this event. Hubby and I are actually arguing about it. When he finally agreed to let me attend, drove fast to fetch Chats and just in time, we were able to catch Piolo Pascual before he leaves the venue. After the ambush picture-taking, we toured the place.

This is such a nice spa to visit. Since hubby and I frequent this place because of the resto at the roof deck (with the view of the whole Metro Manila), now hubby can stay there and drink all he can while I'll have my day at the spa. Or maybe both of us can try and go for a massage.

Here are some of the pics...

I Find Comfort in Our Home....

As usual I was late again for the Filipino Mom Blog's Fab Holiday Finds Meme. I got the comforter during a sale at Our Home shop. Got it at half the price. See my son is enjoying it...he doesn't want to sleep back on his bed again.

Nice Finds

As I was buying Milk & Co. clothes at the Star Mall, I saw this stall (store) selling buy one take one slippers. I saw this pair, bought it right away. My mom got one too.

Got this for only P75.00, now, am thinking of selling slippers on my shop, he he he.
