Mommy Bloggers' Get-Together at Burgoo...

After weeks of staying at home, I finally attended a bloggers' event. This time it's mainly a get-together. A good friend, Racquel arrived from Germany. We met and dined again in Burgoo at the Podium. And for the first time, I've met Salen and Aileen. As usual we had endless chats while enjoying the food. Plus the non-stop picture-taking. A Burgoo crew instantly became our official photographer using nine different cameras...and I tell you, it's not even tiring to smile.

Thanks Racquel, we really had a great time.

Weekend Snapshot: Pantene Bloggers' Party

Last Friday, I attended a bloggers' party sponsored by Pantene at Taste Asia (Mall of Asia). As usual, there's so much good food, drinks overflowing and wonderful people around. Thanks to Aileen Apolo for the invite. Check her site for the monthly bloggers' event. There's another one coming up this 31st.

At the party, I met newbie bloggers as well as the old-timers. We had some chikahan (chats) and picture-taking. I grabbed this photo courtesy of Mitch, a mommy-blogger I finally met at the party. She came all the way from Subic just to attend this event.

Cute Halloween Costumes

The other day I have nothing to do, I surfed the net for halloween costumes for my kids. Then, I found these pics posted below, they're so cute. I suddenly missed having a baby. Speaking of babies, my good friend Feng is now havin' one. She's pregnant again, yehey! Congrats Feng. Enjoy it my dear.

The Philippine Blog Awards Night

Last Sunday, September 21, we attended the most anticipated blog event, The Philippine Blog Awards. It was held at One Esplanade, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City. It was such a successful event, attended by quite a number of bloggers (professionals and newbie as well). It was even made more special with the attendance of Presidentiable, Senator Mar Roxas as guest speaker. Kudos to the organizer and its President Noemi Dado for a job well done. Cheers!

Weekend Snapshot: Parties, Parties at Taste Asia

Posted below are pics taken during the first Coke Party for Bloggers, the Pond's Event (introducing the age miracle cream) and the 2nd Coke Party for the Awarding of Winners on the Coke video blog contest, which I attended. And I can say I really enjoyed attending the Coke events which gave me a chance to bond with fellow bloggers. It's also great to see friends in San Miguel, together with Taste Asia, they provide good food and overflowing drinks (kidded that they should have ordered to moi, am wholesaler of San Mig beers, he he). And of course, am drooling over the very yummy ice cream cake which they served during the 1st and recent Coke events.

Hello...Line Disconnected due to Bad Service

For a long time now, I've been using the Bayantel landline service. Last year when I opened our new business, I need a fast way to get a phone. I availed of the Bayantel wireless phone offer, paid the unit and instantly I have a phone in my shop. That was December.

Come April, the unit has no signal anymore inside the shop, even when I brought it at home. Automatically, I called the Bayantel customer service hotline, talked with a call center agent. Was asked to bring the unit to their center. I send a staff there, they just change the antenna. Still no signal. Called them again, was told that a service crew would arrive and inspect the area. Waited in vain, no service screw showed up. Called them again, was told no one's coming, that it's not the standard procedure when it comes to the wireless service. I exclaimed-What??? I really blew my top, been calling them thrice daily, waited for them, cancelled business meetings, lose some customers at the shop, only to be told I was waiting for nothing. The agent has the gall to ask me if I get the name of his colleague who said that a service crew is coming. I told him, how the **** will I know when I've talked to dozen of call center agents already. GRRRR...Stormed the Bayantel office with hubby, we were advised to buy the outdoor antenna instead. Hubby asked if that antenna didn't work out, what should we do? The customer representative cannot give us a coherent answer. A call center agent told us a day before that the outdoor antenna won't work because they're currently upgrading the system in our area. Hubby began scolding her, we demanded we should not be billed for those weeks. To my consternation, she said it's still subject for approval. Hubby would like to cancel our subscription but the customer representative said we can't return the unit and there's no refund for its cost. What the **** will I use it for? Will I just let my money get wasted for the very bad service of the company? Oh boy, I won't take this sitting down. Am preparing my complaint and bring it to DTI by Monday. And I got favorable action from them before (Sec. Mar Roxas' term) when I filed a complaint against a cellphone distributor (that's another story).

It's been one month now, we don't have a phone line service in my shop. All printed flyers and tarps have that contact number, we offer pick-up and delivery in our line of business. I'm losing customers daily because I don't have a phone line. We are using cellphones instead but not all customers would like to send text or call our cellphone. I'm now looking into PLDT, Globe and Smart offers. The sooner I get a line the better.

For now, my line is disconnected due to BAD BAYANTEL SERVICE!

Yesterday, we (me, Julie and Cookie) were lucky enough to make it to the first 100 registrants to the first-ever SPOT Bloggers Tour, a food trip around the finest restaurants in Serendra. Our generous sponsor is the newest website about dining, drinking and going around Manila, the SPOT.ph.

We were given a SPOT kit which includes ID bracelets, location map, spot pass, notepads & pencils and the SPOT card with the list of participating restos/shops. The resto managers should sign our SPOT card before or after we had sampled their special dish/viands, drinks or desserts, for we would receive another gift if we complete the tour. Nice of them huh, they would let us eat for free to our hearts delight and then give us a gift after. I wonder what the gift would be. I still have my card with me, we're supposed to get our gift at the Summit office in Ortigas. And I would be doubly-delighted if this is a visit to the spa...ha ha ha.

Going back, having tried the buffet (all-you-can eat) offerings of Manila's five star hotels and some fine dining restaurants around, I wasn't prepared to go around 19 restos in one day. This is just too much. And I'm thankful to Spot.ph for the experience and the following restaurants/coffee shops (the * represents my rating on the food, interior, rates and service):
